Which EV Should I Buy?

Our own productNot client work

A free, independent guide for people buying their first electric car. We designed, researched, built and published it ourselves. Nobody paid us to build it, so read it as a sample of how we work, not as a client recommendation.

What we did
Research, design and build
The Which EV Should I Buy? home page: the headline 'Which EV should you buy? Start with where you park at night.' beside the first quiz question.

The project

The problem

There is a lot of poor information about electric cars, and much of it assumes everyone wants something new and expensive. People needed help with a simpler question: which EV is right for me? Not everyone needs something fancy; some people just want something affordable that works.

How we solved it

A 13-question quiz that starts with where you park at night and recommends three cars to test-drive, plus 49 car pages, side-by-side comparison and a running-cost calculator. Every figure that can change carries the date it was checked and a link to its source, and there are no cookies until a visitor chooses.

How it's going now

The site is live and complete: 278 pages, including a page for each of the 49 cars and guides for first-time buyers. In a Lighthouse lab test on a simulated phone, the home page scored 100 for performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO.
