DESCRIPTION

The PXI-based Digital Signal Processing Card is ideal for applications requiring
complex DSP algorithms to be run over dual high-speed analog data streams. Two
500 MSPS analog to digital converters provide up to 14-bit digital data to the FPGA where
the data can be processed before being stored in memory or transferred over the PCI-
express link.

The Stratix IV FPGA provides the user not only with an enormous amount of
programmable logic, it provides up to 161 DSP blocks that can be used to implement
powerful DSP algorithms. Each DSP block contains eight 18x18 bit multipliers and two adders.
Optional pipelining provides data rates up to 500MHz. The DSP blocks can
be combined to create multipliers of any width. The FPGA has a dedicated external
block of DDR3 SDRAM to be used to store intermediate calculations. These memories are
also accessible from the PCI-express endpoint.

The Flash memory can store up to eight FPGA images that can be selected and downloaded
by the Altera MAX II CPLD.
